Caledon harbour in Cuba

Charcoal

February 21, 2023

On a fishing trip to Cuba in Fegruary 2023 I sat in the old fishing harbour surrounded by beautiful old boats in Caledon and drew the old boats moored up to the rickety old jetty posts. It was about 6pm and hr before the sun went down. I got spotted and within 20mins was surrounded by all the local kids who threw lots of questions at me in Spanish. I did my best to educate them as to what I was doing usign sign language as I have no Spanish. They followed every mark I made as I captured a quick 40min charcoal drawing of the boats gently rocking in the water. I asked them to hold the painting at the end so I could take a picture with them. Its was the highlight of my drawing there. Such a beutiful country to draw.
