Career summary
I have specialised as a User Experience Designer for 20+ years. Sectors I have worked in include Education (Research Machines), Transport (Interdigital), Data Marketplaces (cloud services), Human Resources, Financial Services (Finastra, Barclaycard, Barclays, Santander, Zurich Life), Print Reproduction (FujiFilm UK), Health and Leisure (Gladstone) and Internet of Things (Racketware sensor).
I bring a huge amount of experience to projects I have worked as a Lead/Senior UX Designer for many years whether in a Corporate or Startup environment. During my career I have filled various other roles such as Graphic Designer, Print Designer, Web Designer, Use Interface Designer/Developer and Professional Illustrator. I originally trained as an Illustrator and still practise as a Fine Artist and Illustrator outside my commercial working hours as a UX Designer. I take on commissions and personal projects on an ad hoc basis depending upon time constraints. My artistic/creative skills feed directly in to my practice as a UX Designer such as when crafting UI designs or within workshops creating concepts.
Mortgage redemptions
Lead UX Designer of a Redemptions servicing application used by internal telephony staff in Santander UK. Staff issue 9 thousand redemptions per month from requests made by mortgage customers. This has reduced call times, training costs and improved customer satisfaction.
Mortgage switch
Lead UX Designer in a team that have developed an application for telephone agents in the Santander UK mortgage division to process customers calling in to switch their mortgage deals. Agents have all data at their fingertips to inform customers what are the best deals for them. The application has reduced call times and improved customer retentions. It has also reduced risk replacing old systems.
ePos integration
I worked with the internal project team at Barclaycard to integrate 3rd party point of sale hardware and services with Barclaycards systems. This also involved capturing the customer experience so the integration delivered for the customer end to end.
Racketware
The worlds first and only motion tracking sensor and software for squash. I worked on the UX of the App and an early online version of the website. The sensor tracks the rackets movement and live streams the data to your mobile for instant feedback on all aspects of your game. You can use the insights to improve all aspects of your game using extra features like live feedback and player comparison.
